Autumn Reprise

Although we've now lived in Texas since '95, I still feel a bit of dislocation by our sweet gum tree, which remains in "Autumn Mode" into the New Year. Here are a couple of pics I snapped this morning of our still-gorgeous tree.

Beautiful multi colors. We, in out part of the world do not get a chance to experience autumn or snowy winter. We have warm equitorial or wet (rainy) equitorial n colors of the leaves are often green.

Thanks for looking, Scott. As a yankee, the retention of these colors into late December still sort of amazes me.

Marcus, I appreciate the nice words. We see almost no snow in our area, and brilliant fall colors are hard to find as well. This sweet gum, which we had planted when we had the house built, seems more like something that you'd see in Ohio or Michigan.

Thanks for looking and the kind words, Ivan. It sounds as if your climate is similar to ours here on the Texas gulf coast, where our seemingly endless summer days often exceed 95F (36C) with cloying humidity. Fall is our best season and generally lasts into January before we experience a brief "winterish" period.

Happy New Year to you and yours, my friend.

Jer
