I think 1,4 and 7 are great

The other head shots are a little bit to cropped for my taste

Lovely. I can't agree about the head crops being tight. It is all a matter of what you want to emphasize and whether the resulting shapes (faces) contribute to the final result. In most, the emphasis is on the eyes and other features nestled in an oval shape. The ovals don't have to be whole and can implied. The shapes are beautifully juxtaposed against the edges of the images. And the red headed girl with all her imperfections is just stunning. Really nice work.
