... back to the lake.... for new years and the wife's 50th birthday with family... almost no snow this season there... very unusual...
but, on 1/2 and 1/3, had about 12-18 inches of lake effect snow.... been a quiet shooting season for yours truly....

looking from the porch of the lake cottage.. can see the other side of the lake...

All 3 are well presented and each tells it's own story. I like them all!

Dave, what a change from your summer photos, in that first photo I think the birds are even confused. These photos are just plain cold looking, stay inside by the fireplace.

What a great series, Dave. An excellent presentation of how moody winter can feel. Outstanding stuff.

So that's what snow looks like Dave. The weather here in Saugus has been pleasant but dull and only 1" of snow for this entire season.--charliezap

It's good that he took a picture of it when he did, because it's probably gone by now. Here in the Syracuse area it was 50 yesterday (Jan 6th). The few inches of snow we got earlier in the week are gone. We are about 30 inches below normal for this time of year and 60 inches below where we were last year.

@Bob Harris. Those Canada's aren't confused at all. They live here year round now and don't bother to migrate anymore.
