Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

Very nice capture, Lostronin.
Trader, that is a beautiful creature. I've never seen one before.
Too pretty, might become an endangered species.

Question on the PPG. How anal are they about this part of the rules?

Photographs should not be overly manipulated with filters and effects unless done in-camera and loaded to the in-camera effects category. Some dodging and burning to reveal an image is allowed, however, it is not acceptable to move around pixels or add or remove elements. Cropping is allowed.

So they don't want the use of lightroom or photoshop in image editing? Why are they trying to remove a photographer's ability to finalize an image, unless done in camera with crude jpeg processing? That seems rather silly to me.

They just don't want to see badly superimposed people on a plastic wrapped beached with an inverted sky. Keep the image basically how you took it. Photoshop is fine unless you start playing with the filters.

Thanks, I have just submitted six photos in www.pentaxphotogallery.com. The photos are waiting for approval and I will link it to this forum when I show up with them.

My page on flickr.com was not all taken with Pentax lenses. I use Nikon also and I don't like to change lenses often so I use Nikon for my macro until a new Pentax camera comes out maybe next year.

I notice my fellow Pentaxians have to vote on my photos in order for them to be approved now. I have been voting also. I would say about 3 to 4 percent of the images I have voted on are five star photos. I would like to give them a five star vote if I could.

Peony in Pastel and White

Another one of my favorite flower photos made it in. Heaven knows I have taken enough shots of flowers on this trip. Maybe now I can move on to something else.
