Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) entries
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

Haven't submitted any for a while, but I recently submitted a shot that made it.

I'd love to get a non-landscape shot in at some point. Maybe I'll try that next.

Funny story about this one...

I was setting up to play with some Strobist style off-camera flash using the Cactus V2s unit. While I was moving the softbox, my wife (not paying any attention to the lighting) grabbed the camera and snapped a pic of our Lab, Grant. When I saw the pic my jaw dropped. I couldn't duplicate it if I tried, so I didn't even bother. All I know is that it turned out pretty good and just got accepted. I did the PP on it, so I'm taking the credit for this one.....just don't tell her I said that!

That lab shot is very nice. I did happen to notice that you've gotten the same shot into the gallery twice. Once in color and the same shot converted to B&W. At least they look like the same shot.

When I first sent my initial 12 entries and 11 got rejected, I felt a bit offended but later I realized that PPG is about TOP PHOTOS ONLY. I then recongnized that although my pics (submitted ones) were very good, they were not "la creme de la creme". After that, I've submitted few others that got rejected, but so far, I've gotten 5 pictures accepted. Interestingly, two of those are from my old stock (film days).

Since weather is getting better around here, I plan to do some shooting next Sunday, aiming to get some shots "worthy" of PPG.

Here's my ppg thing: PENTAX Photo Gallery

I know what you mean, I finally have a few-non-bird pictures in the gallery now.

Nice shot krypticide

You mis-understand. I was asking for a link to your PPG gallery, the Official Pentax Photo Gallery, which is the subject of this thread. Meaning we all have lovely photos, but we are only sharing the ones that were accepted into the "very difficult to be accepted into" PPG in this particular thread. Please read this thread and click anyone else's link they provided in the thread if you still aren't clear on what I'm saying.

If you don't have a presence there, I urge you to follow the instructions provided on the site to request admission (you need to send an e-mail to a certain Pentax email address), and submit a bunch of your photos there for hopeful acceptance. Very nice stuff in your gallery here and no reason a few of them shouldn't be accepted there in the PPG; and if they aren't, well.... lamenting about that it s the subject of another thread we have going!

UgH... (where's the "shaking his head in frustration" emoticon ...? Am I the only one this is getting to? I'll have to stop trying to keep this thread "clean" then.)

edit: lol! Thanx Simon... You should definitely request addition to the PPG and submit those however. Very nice.

Don't give up! Read the voting criteria. And accept the judgement. And important be creative. Do you know how many warterfalls with a slow shutterspeed I have seen by now.

Is my advise, had number 20 in the gallery today; so there is hope.

Also do a lot off voting yourself it improves your judgment and therefore your creativity.

I haven't posted in this forum in such a long time. I took this pic yesterday morning. These bluejays visit my birdfeeder each day at about 8:20 am. I just love them!
