Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words folks...much appreciated.

A couple more in from my solo journey to Banff over Christmas:
This first one is from my "12 Days" challenge taken on Christmas day and submitted in the "Hope" weekly challenge.

This one was a oddly coloured "Blue Hour" earlier in the same day...I desaturated it a bit only as there is still a bit of pink in the clouds to the left.
Both excellent images.

Another B&W made it in

This was taken at Half Moon Bay, California. I took it with my Sigma 10-20mm. The clouds were kind to me that day. Really beautiful winter day.

Rustynail, that is one compelling picture. Ash, glad to see that cricket made it in (take that PEG). And sealonsf, love the b&w. The lighting is great.

Ash, those cricket shots look like you're putting an entomology guide together, well done. I'm guessing you have a female surfer shot in the voting queue right now, if so it's really nice. I've enjoyed your surfing series.

Ash, please forgive my ignorance, but what does "lens mirror" entry mean.
Looks like I might learn something here.. Freddy

No worries Freddy. A mirror lens (also called reflex or catadioptric optical lens) is usually a compact telephoto lens that utilises an internal mirror to create added magnification to the lens in this way:

Mirror Lenses

Their design results in marked disadvantages:
- fixed aperture
- internal reflections degrade contrast
- sharpness is significantly affected by the reflections
- produces harsh donut-like bokeh

But now from the kit lens: The bass and bass player:
