Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) entries
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

The voting is tiresome though, what's everyone thinking uploading their mediocre vacation photo's? I'm not trying to sound elitist, but some people just don't get the 'your upmost amazing pictures only'-concept it seems.
Can hardly wait to see you photo's now! JIM

I see what you're implying here, but really I wasn't trying to sound like the best photographer ever. It's just, I had about 4 pages of pure snaphots yesterday. Pictures of someone's friends sitting next to their vacation retreat in plastic chairs, that sort of thing.

Here's two pictures I've submitted.

Let’s not forget that of course, a good photo, concerning technique, is a PPG candidate. BUT, sometimes a not perfect photo concerning technique might have the pop to get into PPG due to the emotion shown in it etc.

Only a 2 cents morning thought

There are a lot of new people in the hobby and learning the process, as I am, so what is we like and PPG could vary but that's part of the learning process. I vote 80% down versus 20% approved and some of the ones I shot down get approved and of coarse some I approved never make it up on PPG. Even some of the best photographers get rejected. In one way, guess I may be one of the ones the have put what you consider snapshots up, as I am definately still learning. Good luck with the two you just entered.

Three...

but more than luck IMO, it's better to submit a selected best set of compelling images than a whole heap of shots in the hope one of them will get in.

I agree Ash. I am very selective on what I will send for voting. 1000's taken and only a few get put up. There are times one may take 30-40 shots of the same thing and only find one that works. cheers JIM

Scott, congrats for the two you got in, great shots!
Marc, love your moon shot, congrats!

And yes, they seem to have 2-3 weeks intervals in their review. At the moment, as I write this, it seems that the rejecting run is on, and we should expect to see acceptances towards weekend — thumbs up!
