Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) entries
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

PPG quality?

This is my last to get in. I was quite surprised it made it as I shot this in JPG through the windshield of a moving car! I helped the shot a little in PP, but am still wondering if its worth the 5 stars someone quickly gave it. I've been uploading since last January and have since deleted several shots that had made it in but I was not happy with. I've read up on some PPG threads here and it seems the consensus is that approvals are now solely based on votes. Also, I have written emails to Pentax regarding the PPG but never got a single reply, which tells me it's all computers...Someone on here once asked why none of his/her shots were getting in, and someone else replied to them: "Do you vote?" I vote a lot, is that really a factor?. What do you think about my shots, are they worth being there? Peer voting is good after all, I am just venting and questioning my own "work". Happy shooting everyone.

To me that shot is worthwhile. Technically fine (looking at it on a phone) but also composed well with both foreground and background interest. Many people neglect the foreground with their landscapes.

Well, maybe you're too hard on yourself. Beautiful shot and well deserved to be in PPG.

I would have voted for your shot. As dcBear stated, solid foreground and background elements. I also like the shadows on the snow.

Is that light Photoshopped? If not - how did you do it? I like the effect.

Here's another from myself, nothing too fancy - just a decent catwalk shot, still made it through:

It's taking a long time to get photos through. I have 4 that I uploaded on June 14th that still haven't been accepted or rejected. I have 19 pending now.

2 of the 4 I submitted on June 14th were finally accepted.

Both from my first shoot in the field with the Sigma 150-500.
