Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

Congratulations Prieni on your 200th acceptance. You have a high quality gallery, the number of different interpretations of that lighthouse is amazing. I particularly like the frozen seascapes.

I missed this post earlier. The flares were there. I just enhanced them with photoshop. I actually use the original version as my desktop background on my work computer.

Zav,

I guess it has something to do with how many people and how often they vote. The part that I wonder is the PPG final approval. I just got 2 out of 3 in about 3.5 days.

I guess when the photo is that good that they can tell immediately, they do not wait for the voting. I got one accepted the following day. Most of them take two or three weeks.

It's a lovely shot, in terms of colours and composition, but I had noticed it too. I think it is CA. The building on the left has some distinct CA with red on the side closer to the sun and green on the left side of it. I am quite surprised by how soft it was considering it was shot at f8 so I am going to say there is some vibrations in there as well. Was it very windy when you took the shot?
Thanks Chaos_Realm.
I wonder why the softness and CA occurred (I never have any in other sunset/sunrise photos)? I was using tripod, think that day not too windy but was on long exposure of 122 sec.

Has your lens suffer any drops or knocks recently. Alternatively you might be focusing BEYOND INFINITY?

No i don't remember I've dropped the lens but I only focused once in Av mode, then switch to MF and Manual mode and put on the 10 stop ND filter, after that never adjust the focusing anymore.

After a bit of research (and pixel peeping), I think it's just a property of the lens. It has a few complaints of CA & softness in near the edges, and looking back through your (and a couple of other peoples) older shots it seems evident in them as well. Must have just caught my eye this particular time. Anyway Keep up the good shooting you make me rather envious of all those awesome birds!
