Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) entries
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 12-27-2007, 11:50 AM

Hello all! I am going to make this a sticky post in hopes that I can get all of you who have submitted pictures to the Pentax Photo Gallery (PPG) and have had them accepted please post a couple of them here and please link back to your gallery so we can see your work. We have so many incredible photogs on this site I am curious to see what Pentax considers your best work.

Thanks!

Well, I think they want make really sure that your image was taken with a Pentax camera. So the site seems to check the EXIF data even if you chose to enter the specs of your image manually. I don't know which software you are using for editing but I'm pretty sure there is a way to strip the EXIF data from the file (had google that for Photoshop myself).
Cheers,
David
Thanks again David. They obviously don't care about this, so I will pass. I can't be bothered jumping through hoops they set because I use a film camera.I will try to delete my membership.

Nicely done Vincent. The HDR processing is effective in those landscapes.

One more portrait in:

OK, I got a reply from Pentax. It seems the scanner is fooling their software automation. I was told to save the pictures 'for the web'. This time they were accepted ( now why can't they put this information on the front page???)
They had a place to vote for other pictures, but I'm not sure what that is about. Only two choices yes or no. There were many I simply just wanted to skip because they were not my kind of pictures. For example, I don't like long exposures on flowing water which makes it look like cotton wool, yet I don't want to thumbs down just on my subjective tastes. I wish it was just the pictures you liked that you could vote on.

I haven't posted in this thread before but today I had 3 more photos accepted to the PPG, which brings my total up to 40 images accepted into the gallery.

Here are the last 3 to be accepted, all shot with my K-01

Nothing wrong with that as good as you do it!

Unusual for me, a portrait:

That looks like a bridge i've seen in a recent car (or travel?) commercial.

I am quite surprised at the images from my most recent batch of submissions that did not get accepted. Maybe PPG is getting a little more picky again? Anyway, here are a couple that did squeeze through:

Great images, Chris! Seems like PPG is getting more picky. I did some voting this week and checked the "recently added" section afterwards. Normally a lot of the images I gave a 'thumb down' end up in the PPG anyway. But this week only very few of the images were accepted.

Three more of my film shots were accepted:

Pentax ME, Ilford Pan F+ developed in D-76
