Those are fantastic captures but that first one is just sensational my friend! So dramatic and atmospheric and makes my moody tree photos look profoundly boring by comparison!

Very dramatic shots Remco. All that the first one needs is a tornado coming from the clouds.--charliezap

Fantastic B&W images, Remco. I find the POV in the second especially striking.

What software do you use for your conversions?

Garbhán, thank you for the compliments. From my one trip to Ireland many years ago I remember that you have even more possibilities than I have to create fantastic 'moody' pics. All you need is a fitting landscape and clouds. Both shouldn't be a problem!

He Bob! You're right Photography and Fishing are a match made in heaven! Although the catching part of the fishing seems to pose the biggest problem for me... I've seen one pike this short fishing trip. I snatched the bait a bit to early from it's jaws. Still had a very enjoyable afternoon!

Thanks Charlie! Luckily tornado's aren't that prolific in the Netherlands. Only when it's a hot summers day with a thunderstorm brewing it's possible to encounter one.

Thanks Nate! The second one is my favorite to. Shorty after I spotted this tree I already made up my mind about what sort of photo I wanted and the POV (point of view). After that I exposed for the highlights to get a nice silhouette. In PP I used three programs: Aperture to balance out the light and to straighten the horizon a bit (I don't own a good tripod), Color Efex Pro from Nik Software to bring out some of the detail in the sky and the water and Silver Efex (also from Nik) for the conversion (split tones).

First one fits the title spot on, a damn lovely shot.

Second shot draws my eye more towards the reflection in the water.

Both are excellent, but as seems the general case, I am in awe of the first one.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, these are very impressive, Remco. The first one is a knockout to my eye. Great job, as usual.
