I feel so sorry for that Firecrest.
Excellent shots Walter. I'm nothing but envious.

Lovely, as always, Walter.

I really think a: I need to get one of those Audobon books to be able to better identify what birds I'm coming across (JCS can you link me up to one you would suggest?) and b: I'm going to spend more time "birding" with my Pentax in hopes of getting some similar images to share!

Great shots

Walter,

Those are some wonderful shots.. I personally like the last one of the firecrest the best. It is almost like it is willing those rose hips to be berries or something..

GREAT Shots.. Thanks for sharing..

I am with you SouthShore... Pics like these want to make me become a bird watcher.. LOL.. but I am having a hard enough time getting photo's of my little chickadee's on my porch..

Rob, you could try the Ojibway shop Shop at Ojibway - City of Windsor or the Point Pelee whichever is the closest.

Google Audubon Society and you'll get plenty
Chapters has lots of books too.

I prefer looking in second-hand stores and don't forget Value Village. Sally Ann's Thrift is not always good for books.

Good luck

All very nice. Might I suggest a slight contrast or levels boost to 1-4 . I think it would give them all a little more punch. Nice shots. The last one is my favorite of the bunch.

All wonderful captures as usual Walter but especially enjoyed the last two. Every shot I've seen of your Kestrals I've been in awe of. This one is no different. And the detail in the Firecrest shot is simply wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

Walter, great shots - most folks would be happy if they could get the eyes in focus - you manage to get the whole bird in focus!! Wonderful!!

And, like most others, I like the Firecrest shot the best, but.............. there's something about the yellow eyes on the Tufted that really catches my attention!?!?!?!

Walter,

These images are awful! It's apparent to me that the lens you are using is substandard and you should perhaps move to a different, Pentax lens. Please let me help you get rid of that Sigma before its too late! I'll be happy to discard it for you.

Excellent images walter! I feel that they are a little flat and washed out looking thouh for the most part. A simple levels job will make this images really pop. Heres what I mean.
