I looked out the window this afternoon and saw a flock of Cedar Waxwings perched in a couple of trees. I saw them a couple of days ago as well but it was raining pretty steadily so I didn't get a good shot. Today was overcast and there was some rain. I took this shot of the group in one tree:
And a couple of closer shots:
Several flew out from a tree behind our shed in back so I went back there to check it out. There is a tree with some sort of berries that they feed on. As I stood there six or eight flew down and perched, a couple within just a few feet but unfortunately I had the Sigma 170-500 lens mounted and was too close to get a shot. When I moved the birds flew off. I waited a while after moving further away but they did not return to the area. Tomorrow I hope they will return and I will try and get a shot of them in that berry tree. I may be able to get pretty close with a DA 55-300 or even the DA* 50-135.
