A bit of nostalgia...
Lens: Zuiko Digital 12-60/f2.8-4 SWD Camera: Olympus E-3
Posted By: nickthetasmaniac, 01-22-2012, 06:58 PM

All this talk of the Fuji X-Pro 1 and the forthcoming Olympus 'digital OM' has got me all nostalgic for my first 'real' camera - a beautiful little Pentax MX with the timeless SMC Pentax-M 50/f1.7.

So here she is, accompanied in #1 by the MX Winder - shot with an E-3 and ZD 12-60 SWD.

And a couple of shots with the combo using the 'Sunny 16' rule - ahhh for fully manual bodies

I have the same setup minus the winder... great camera. I also have an ME Super with the winder, again great camera. The only reason I went with the K-5 was because of the great experiance I had with these bodies, and the plethora of K lenses I purchased to go with them! Great pics, the MX still beats the OM series in my book.

I hardly ever used the winder, it just made a very compact camera not very compact (although it was quite comfortable) - it also feels really weird not having to wind the film on...

I don't really have any experience with the OM bodies to compare

I started with the very same rig (and rarely used the winder). I've still got my MX as well as the one my Dad owned. I've never enjoyed a camera more than this one - Tri-X and an MX.
