A great day with the Pentax 55-300
Lens: Pentax 55-300 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Saugus Ma
Posted By: charliezap, 01-25-2012, 03:30 PM

I really liked the outcome of today's birding and I'm still learning about my 55-300 lens.I set the K5 on aperture priority at around f/11 and was so pleased with the results that I celebrated with a glass of "Cab"The doves were shot from about 60ft away and my friendly chickadee was from 10ft.The wine was shot with the Pentax 18-250 lens.Of course I did a couple of obligatory K5 filter shots.--charliezap

Heck of a wine shot Charlie, one of the best I've seen. The bird photos are also nice but not as satisfying as the wine shot.

I find that I'm more productive Bob when the wine comes after and not before.--charliezap

Wonderful shots of the chickadee and doves... the lone Dove is beautiful and giving you the eye! I also like your glass of wine shot... I always find my photos look better after I have my nightly vino, but yours look awesome even with morning coffee! cheers

Thank Tess and Dave. The "cab" that I have for what I call everyday house wine is the big 4 ltr bottle of Carlo Rossi($13.99).When company is over I hide that and break out something a little nicer.--charliezap
