a Lady in Black
Posted By: Bob Harris, 01-28-2012, 12:57 AM

A bit of a abstract view of fan palms at the oasis we recently visited. Yeah I know, I have too much time on my hands, stick with traditional photography

For sure for you Bob. I think I would have cropped it and posted the lady in black just a little larger. I did a control ++ just to see what it looked like larger. Kind of hard to determine what you were shooting. I guess we all need to step into unfamiliar territory occasionally to grow and improve our skill set. Does Ansel have to start worrying yet?????? What fun would it be Bob if every picture we took was 5 star?--Life is a learning experience.--charliezap

Bob, I really like this image for many reasons. I love the way the wind is blowing Terry's hair and the palms... the flow is very very nice. I also like the perspective. I would never have guessed the size of those trees without this composition. I also like the black and white rendering... It gives a dramatic Druid effect. Keep on experimenting... it brings out your artistic essence!

thanks Cliff, I have already cropped this image and just wanted an image that you look for the subject matter among a grouping of massive palm tree fronds.

It looks like the legs from one of the creatures from "Where the Wild Things Are", and the woman is about to be eaten or stepped on. And no, I'm not drunk or high.

thanks Tess, we did have a very windy day and was just looking for a different effect involving the palms and Terri. These are monster trees for sure and being in a grove like this you can almost get lost. I always appreciate your kind words.
