Flying through the Orion constellation.

I went outside to grab a quick shot of Orion just to get a feel for the proper exposure and ISO settings when the airliner passed through the frame. You can see on the right where I tripped the camera to start the 30sec exposure by the initial shake.I was going to take more but these old fingers started feeling numb in the 30 deg temp.---charliezap

I like the effect. Your camera looks like it was felling cold also. I enjoy the way you captured the red and blue wing flashing lights. This shows how much a plane flexes as it flies.

I like your shot and love this coincidence. I too shot a sequence of Orion last night just to experiment with some star trail settings... But mine missed the aircraft.

I guess it's not too bad considering that in my area around the Boston area there is a ton of light pollution and the moon was fairly bright tonight. Thanks for commenting Patrick,--charliezap

I'm going to do it again but when the weather is a little more user friendly.--charliezap

If it wasn't for the aircraft Lee I probably wouldn't have posted it.When it gets a little warmer to be outside at night I'll play around doing this a bit more.--charliezap
