Some winter colors from VA
Posted By: Duh_Vinci, 12-24-2006, 04:58 PM

Well, its winter, but no snow... So my holiday wishes to all of you with some "mild winter colors" from Virginia

These are taken with an old cheap Sears 135mm f/2.8 and cheap extension tubes (since I don't have a real macro lens yet)...

Regards,
D

Excellent shots! That first one is stunning! BTW, the Tamron 90mm macro can be had relatively cheaply at KEH if you are willing to get an older one w/o the DI coatings.

NaCl(if you can do that well with extension tubes think what you could do with a "real" macro! )H2O

Very nice macros. I have always had a special place in my photographer's heart for water droplets.

Good shots!

A Sears Lens? Thats Fantastic! I have seen them on ebay and at KEH but never considered buying them. This might change my mind

Thank you all for the comments!

Yep, cheap cheap lens, not the sharpest one (did aply small amt of "smart sharpen" but, no other photoshop levels/colors/contrast has been touched. Very little money well spent on this lens imo - for fun/experimenting on closups at least...

NaCl - I've seen photos with Tamron 90mm, DI and non-DI, great macro lens, but I think I have somthing else brewing - very very soon

Regards,
D
