High Country Winter
Lens: Takumar 135mm F3.5 Preset Camera: Pentax K-x Photo Location: Northern Colorado
Posted By: Colorado CJ, 02-04-2012, 09:10 PM

I went on another hike/shoeshoe in the high country today. We had some pretty good snow yesturday, so the mountains were VERY white. You just can't beat the high country after a fresh snow. It was dark and cloudy/foggy all day, but I think a few of these turned out ok

These were shot with my new (to me) Takumar 135mm F3.5 Preset, mostly at F11.

WOW! You sharpened, I can see that, but I'm generally speaking, speechless.
The second one is eye candy, along with the first and third. The gradations are almost MF.
Thanks for posting these.

A true winter wonderland, wonderful series here CJ. Love the last one especially. What a beautiful area you live in, you must feel privileged.

Very nice. This is the only way I ever want to see that much snow. Love the lighting in these.

Thank you everyone. I wanted to test out the new lens, so I figured a hike in the high country was the best way to go about it . From the pictures, you can see the lens works well, but it is hard NOT to take a good photo when you are out in these mountains.

When the day is cold and overcast like it was yesturday, it can feel almost like a dreamland at times, especially with the absolute quiet that takes over when snow is in the air. I tried to capture that in the first photo, hopefully it worked
