Seward, Alaska
Posted By: slowpez, 02-10-2012, 07:57 AM

Seward is one of those places that is a jumping off place to see lots of cool stuff so let's get going.

Alaskan Sea Life Aquarium (you can so many of these critters in the wild that this wasn't as much fun as it could have been.

I call this one Bliss

We boarded a small boat (16 passengers) for a wildlife tour of the Kenai Fjords. This one will definitely go down in the memory books. Sadly, these were all handheld in a boat that kept on rockin'.

More from the Kenai Fjord coming up.

Starfish in Alaska? Who knew? Certainly not me!
It's like that orange on was posing for you - the perfect "interuption" for the shot.
Keep 'em coming Susan. Looking forward to more.....

Thanks Tom and Tim. The starfish were a surprise to me too. Too bad the focus is off but the boat just wouldn't sit still in the water.

Alaska's waters are rich in life, including all sorts of starfish, crabs, etc. Our dive club has members up there too - here are a couple of photos from a group that flew up from Seattle to dive near Sitka:

Bassman's starfish

Bassman's feather star

One of these days I want to get up there and dive those waters...

Wonderful, Susan - despite the rockin' boat.
