Agent Orange?
Posted By: codiac2600, 01-03-2008, 10:37 PM

No just the colour of the water when you use orange plastic!

Yup, we made a boss setup and played around today since it was about 10 degrees out and below zero with wind chill factored in.

Two AF540's fired wirelessly with ebay triggers one at 1/4 and the other at 1/8. The rest is magic!

No more water droplets, golf balls!

Excellent series. That color looks great - very creative. #7 is my favorite. Thanks for shaing.

Any chance you could share the lens, aperture, and shutter of each shot?

Spetacular serie. The freezing moments of each shots are stunning
Thank Roe and there are dozens more, but I decided on these.

Great shots, especially the water droplets ones, though I would've preferred if the orange plastic was more out of focus in some of them
Thank you and yeah, I wish but the DOF is so tough anyway that if I turned it down for blur I'd have a really tough time to get any of these shots in focus with all the variables involved.

Looks like a lot of fun and the results are excellent. Especially the water droplets.
Thank Scott and it was a blast! Can't wait for my buds to get theirs online.

I like this series - fun - love the color change on the dice and the details of the drops - and many of my tee shots look similar to your golf ball pictures although I never get to see that - thanks for showing me what it looks like when it lands ‘a little wet’ haha . All well done !
Lol, nice, I remember playing golf, and the reason I don't play much anymore is the wet.

[QUOTE=Peter Zack;145489]Chris, Great series and very well set up and lit. favourites are without a doubt the water drop just above the surface close up (following the pliers) and the green dice. Great stuff.[/QUOTE

Thanks Peter!

Great series Chris. I really like the freeze shots of the water droplets and the colours and patterns you captured.

Paul
Thanks Paul!

sweet! How did you set up the timing?
Thank you and the timing is a little tricky.

Basically the shooter would count one... two... go... object drops at go and the shooter has to time the object hitting the water. Patience and having fun people are key to great timing!

Me thinks the blue dice really stuck-out.
Thanks you!

These are really excellent. You've really got a flare for experimentation. But really...you're not using Titelists?
Lol, thanks and those were the only balls I had that hadn't been used from when I stopped playing golf.

Chris,

What kind of wireless triggers are you using?

- Bert
I'm currently using the Ebay triggers from Gadget Infinity.

Chris,

You really seem to have too much time on your hands

And still playing with TMNT at your age. You should be ashamed... then again, maybe not

I like the green dice image (4 dice) the best.

Stephen
Thank you Stephen and I do

I imagine it would be really tricky. I've read about creating an IR trigger that creates an infrared plane that will trigger the flash when the plane is broken. Then its simply a matter of turning off the lights and setting the camera in bulb mode.

I need to get me one of those!

I love these Chris. This is tough to do, at least when I tried it. Water drops is what prompted me to get the 540 flash, impossible to attempt these without good light. Thanks for sharing your examples here. Gives me a whole lot to aspire to.

Hmmm, but that seems to take all the mad skillz outta taken these pics. It's like those lightning triggers for your camera... no skillz needed, but you get great pics. I'm too old fashioned I guess, but this summer I'm gonna do some wicked stop action stuff once I get all the stuff ready.

Lol, no need to aspire, the goal is to surpass and it doesn't take much to pass these up. Heck my other two buddies will probably post better ones on their flickr from yesterday and I'll be put to shame.

Yippee!!!! I finally got to see the images!!!!

Those are cool and it looks like you had a blast doing it. Just the sort of post to point people to when they whine about it being too dark/rainy/whatever outside so they can't take pictures.
