Went snowshoeing in the woods at my country house during the xmas holidays and took a few pics... most were taken with my manual 50MM 1.7

This is a black birch downned by a tornado that hit last year. I love the texture.



A little creek thats trying not to freeze... a losing battle...



Running water, was a hard pic to take as it's nearly impossible to get close to the water.

Using my poles I measured 54in of snow in a clearing... (and 10 more inches fell since I took those pics!)

The second one has that "snow quiet" feel to me.... That is one of the things I like best about going out just after snow storm or even while its snowing... It is soooo quiet and peaceful. I esspecially like it when you can "hear" the snow fall......
