Yes, charlie, its called a weaver's ant. its painful when bitten. Its building its nest and hence will defend its territory

shot with fa 50 macro at close distance and hence this defensive nasty expression

I cannot stand spiders but even so I find that last one really cute! And that`s a compliment

I really like the eyes of the spider pic.It's looking at you like it's posing for the picture to be taken.Overall great work!!

These are impressive - but I'm not sure I would choose to get that close to something that is known to bite.

What type of flashlight did you use to get these shots?

Somehow I like to capture jumping spiders. Yes I find it cute and thanks for the compliment

thank you, Barnster. The spider was found on the railing and color being green. It did not have a lots of space to manouvre and my lens was right ahead of its path, momentarily still, allowing me to capture it.

I remmebered I was using flash metz 58 af2, the latest version with a diffuser as you can see from the reflection of the eyes of the spider, to soften the shadows and direct harsh light.
