The aperture and shutter speed are more or less, it's been a while since I've used the K1000, I forgot to take notes

Christo, it appears that there is historical significance to this building with the monument/plaque in front and surrounding gates.

Hi Bob, the building is quite old, I don't know what it was used for originally but it houses a branch of one of the major banking groups in RSA. The fence and grounds actually belongs to the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa, which was build between 1885 and 1887 and lies just to the left of this picture.

with my K-x, you can see the building in the first picture to the right

and from the back, with my Jashica J-7

Thanks again for looking, I just wish I could travel more and share more of my country with you, but at this stage of my life I work 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, hoping to one day perhaps doing more or less what you do now

Thank you Christo for the additional photos, the architecture is quite stunning, we love visiting the sites like these. Retirement is the easy part, getting there is the best part, enjoy the cricket games.

Thanks Bruce, I agree with you about seeing the world via this forum, and at the same time meeting such nice people, willing to share with us.

Edit: I see you are on the east coast of Australia. My sister, about your age, is staying in Melbourne. If I ever get a chance
to travel overseas, I would like to visit Australia, and the warmer parts of the USA. Europe and Canada seems a bit to cold
