At the painted pond
Lens: Pentax-F 17-28mm 3.5-4.5 smc Fish-eye Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: At home, Sweden ISO: 80 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F5.6

I found that she really matched the colors of the painting when I was shooting with the fish-eye zoom. A bounced flash and some heavy cropping later I got the pic. I feel that it's nice contrast between the painting and "real life". Sadly I can't do much about my hand in the photo as I can't crop much more than this.

This is really a neat idea. Too bad about your arm. Could you have used a perch or something that would make it look more natural? I really love the effect of the painted background though and you should give it another try. I even like it with your arm cropped completely out.

I'll try different crops and maybe to retake it, but it's hard to to get the birds doing what I want when I want it. Stubborn things that bites! I doubt that I can get her on a perch there in the hallway, she barely sits still on my finger here in the photo so I had to be quick.

In that case, I would still keep it because it is really a nice shot and I do love that background.

I like the hand effect.

It is unusual and draws you into the picture.
