Floods in Australia
Lens: Pentax DA 16-45 Camera: K200 Photo Location: Canberra, Australia ISO: 400

Some photos I took of Lake Tuggeranong overflowing thanks to the flooding rains we've had this week. I'm not sure which image I like best; although I like the last one, the first image puts it in context. Edit - I've added more images further down in the thread, taken a day later with a bit more light.

Hey, those are really cool. Have you thought of doing a B+W render of them??

Thanks for sharing

Thanks! Actually, I was in the process of doing one before I saw your reply!

Noice....Great movement, a real sense of speed in the shot.

Would make a really nice wall print.

I also took video - though not with a Pentax camera. I've been using the K200 lately rather than the K7!

Here's another greyscale. I've edited the top right hand corner because it was distracting.

Yeah, I kinda did that in veiwing the original post, as I scrolled down the page, what I was viewing was "effectively" cropped very similarly to that. again, these are good, I like the angles created in this last one, and the contast ( one could say juxiposition) of the smooth water against the rushing water.

Thanks again! I'm glad I decided to go out in the rain to see what I could capture.
(although I kind of wish I took a tripod so I could have shot it at 100ISO and eliminated most of the noise... there's always tomorow!)

Cool Rob - I've never seen anything like this - I dig the B&W conversions, especially.

Thanks Jer - I'll see if I can go back today and take a couple more with the tripod. I agree about the B&W - removing the colour highlights the shape and tone.

More sunlight today (though no direct sunshine yet). A couple more images of the Tuggeranong spillway and another, different design upstream.

PS I used the Pentax 18-55WR on the K7 and the DA35 limited on the K200 today.
