Saguaro NP - Brilliant Skies
Camera: K-7
Posted By: slowpez, 03-08-2012, 07:37 AM

Here are some shots of some of the really magnificent sunsets this park gets. They close the park just at sunset you have to play dodge 'em with the rangers to stay long enough for some of the shots. Why do they do that anyway? The open after sunrise and close at sunset locking the gate so you can neither get in or out. Really bad planning.

Tuscon has such beautiful skies. You've captured them wonderfully! I always wish they would open or close the parks just an hour before or after sunset/sunrise.

Beautiful shots. Maybe they close at sunset because they don't want somebody stumbling into a cactus in the dark

Thanks guys. I find that the way our national parks are run sometimes frustrating. There are so many parks that cry out for sunrise or sunset shots but you can't get into them. I do know that if you pay a ranger at White Sands National Monument you can get in early enough to take sunrise photos.

Stunners, Susan - nothing less. Three and five are amazing to my eye.

Susan, these look like photos straight out of Arizona Highways. A lot of people don't believe how beautiful the sky is out in the s/w, your photos are spot on.
