Saying goodbye to Saguaro
Camera: K-5
Posted By: slowpez, 03-09-2012, 08:42 AM

Hope everyone noticed the camera I am using for these shots. It arrived on Dec. 2, 2011. An early birthday, Christmas, anniversary and every other gift-giving holiday that will occur over the next ten years.
I have to admit, after getting it I spent most of my time taking hand-held high ISO shots just because I wanted to see what it would do. These shots came from our last days in the park. We had to stay longer than we had planned because they closed the interstate just before the New Mexico border due to a snow storm.

Can you believe a rainbow in the desert?

Second is my fave, but I'm a sucker for dramatic clouds and light piercing through.

I adore this colour-full series Susan! So rich and varied, the sky in each to die for, the cactus is lovely too! So... do you notice a difference in your images now that you are shooting with the K5?

Thanks aon, Rense and Tess.
Tess, I do notice a difference in the DR and of course the ISO. The K-7 was just way too noisy for me above 400. Sadly though, we were getting much closer to home so I really haven't given it a run through its paces yet and I really regret not having it in Alaska.
