Bryce Canyon hike 1

Not too far from Zion NP is Bryce Canyon.

There are many trails. This one called Fairyland is a loop about 8 miles long.

These types of rock formations are called hoodoos.

A lightning strike?

This is not a chimney.

About a mile away is the formation called Sinking Ship.

The trail.

Four miles in is Tower Bridge.

A twisted tree.

Mostly uphill for the next 1.7 miles...

The Chinese Wall.

The trail.

This probably has a name, but I did not catch it.

We have never spent anytime hiking in the park, the way they have the drive up the mountain with all of the turnouts makes this a great way to view it. Very nice photos here Kyle, really enjoyed the view and narrative.

Thanks for the comments. Bob, this is where I stayed, just a couple miles down the highway outside the park. Very reasonable.

They have normal motel rooms but I got this for about the same price.

The view out the front door.

A nice series Kyle, thanks for posting. How long did it take you to traverse the 8 mi loop? Cliff

That is a great looking room Kyle, beats roughing it for sure. We will be at Zion for 2 weeks, so will take a trip over to Bryce. It is one of our favorite NP's, got to love those hoodoo's.

Thanks, Cliff. About 4 hours of huffing and puffing.

Great pics! Thanks for bringing back pleasant memories of a walk through Bryce way back in 1982. Does the Queen Victoria formation still exist?
