In Flight

I was photographing bears when I accidentally hit the shutter button. Decided that I kind of liked it but thought I would get other opinions. What do you think?

Oh, but it's not a bear. And I am a biologist, so I happen to know. Probably you should prepare better when you go out shooting...

(In the meantime, I'm envious you have the opportunity to shoot bears.... )

Susan, this is great. Sometimes making a mistake is a good thing.

Thanks guys. I felt it might have some merit but I wasn't sure.

Susan, I like it, motion, motion great post. Sometime when loaded for bear, it doesn't hurt to shoot a bird....Cliff

Susan. Very interesting image. Some of the best works happen by accident. Well done. JIM

Superb image. You may want to try to down the white on the body a bit. But even with that, it is really fine image, with the spirit of the bird and flying, captured nicely.

Thats Great, "The un-expected masterpiece", always a great treat when you go thru your pics later to discover one like that. It's a keeper.

That is really awesome IMO. The movement of both the background and subject creates a magical feel for me. A large poster of that would really be great or as a cover to a book. Sometimes things just grab you and this image has done that for me. I've looked at it 6X!

Geesh! Thanks so much for the nice compliments. I am now officially glad I hung onto the thing. JMR, thanks for suggesting I try to tone down the white on the bird. I see what you mean and will give that a go.
