Insect lines

The lines on this tree reminded me of the Nazca lines. The marks on the bark are left by a grub burrowing under the bark, and lead to the common name of this kind of Eucalypt; the Scribbly Gum.

Macro always points out what I miss in the world, the details. Nicely done and very interesting.

Thanks! I deliberately went out planning to take macro photos yesterday, and saw some things I probably would have otherwise missed if my intention was to photograph birds, or simply go for a walk. I just wish I could bring home the smell of the damp earth and the forest!

Thanks Tracy! It kind of looks like insect graffiti.
