Macro some tiny beetle and dung fly

Slowly more and more bugs are starting to move around here. This year I want to get some pictures of insects that really show the compound eyes... This is a start, first the dung fly:

The second one I´m quit content with, this tiny flea beetle is around 2mm big! :

The flea looks like hammered gold. Wonderful!

You might want to try stopping down more. I find myself leaning towards f./20 or f./22 for macro these days. The DoF gain is worth any very slight (often imperceptible) softening from diffraction.

But then I probably will see almost nothing due to diminishing light.. I will try it out, I could first focus, then stop down and take the shot..
