There is a tree in the nearby park that has 2 leaves on it that survived through last fall and winter. I've tried to figure out how to capture their lone existence while also capturing leaf detail. Not sure if I got the balance right in these particular shots.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I don't disagree with you. As noted in my comment above the photos, I know what I wanted to capture, but I didn't think I had quite caught the mood. Of the many photos I had taken of the leaves, the top one was closest, but still not all that close. Shifting the leaves to being off center is a great idea and one I would not have thought of, as I know I tend to compose with a center bias, and I also tend to think more about aperture and overall cropping than the location of an object within the image.
