Recently bought this lens but didn't get around to test it until today. Attached a few pictures with different aperture settings... I think this lens might be a keeper. Although AF it is build like a tank, all metal barrel. Not a lightweight.

Really nice shots.
I think the second picture at 1/180 sec shot at f4.5 worked best.
Detail is great. Colors look intense without being blown.
Good job.

Hi Redhawk, thanks for sharing these beautiful photographs

Maybe you could post them as DFA 100mm f2.8 lens review section?

I can see the great bokeh from your floral series here. (I am still determined to find a Fa* 200mm f4 macro before I settle on DFA 100)

cheers

Thanks for posting, Redhawk,

Beautiful images, beautiful lens.

I prefer #1 although I wish it leaned into the frame a bit with the stem showing a little more (yeah, I know, knit-picking!)

I'm just learning about bokeh so if this is off base correct me. The background with little circles from the foliage highlights seem distracting to me. I'd rather the background be smoother (or softer?)

Thanks, Dan

Beautiful!

Thanks for posting these shots.

My FA100 2.8 arrives on Friday and these photos show I've made a good choice (although I might have a lead on the elusive FA*200 f/4 )

The only downside is that there are no insects or flowers here now, so finding appropriate subjects will be tough...

Thanks - actually it is not the D-FA, but the old FA. Like this one:

Thanks for all the comments. Maybe I will post a few 100% crops in the review section, although I am not very good in writing reviews.
