The U. P. Through the Canyon
Lens: Super Takumar 35mm F3.5 Camera: Pentax K-x Photo Location: Northern Colorado ISO: 100

Just a quick shot taken while out prospecting on my claim yesturday. The railroad goes right up the canyon on the other side of the creek. Shot with my Pentax Kx and Super Takumar 35mm F3.5 lens.

There's Gold in Them There Hills is there CJ? Nice B/W shot.

Thanks Bob. Yes, there's GOLD in them there hills all right. Here is a single day's take while testing the area. This was found just using a small stream sluice and shovel. MUCH more can be found when using the dredge.

That's a pretty good days take I would say, unless of course you are using a macro lens.

Thanks. Amtrak uses the same line. The trains go slow in this area because of the steep grade, and you can see the passengers all lined up at the windows watching us digging for gold as they pass.

My wife's great-grandfather did pick and shovel adit mining, though at 13,800 feet near the pass between Lake City and Ouray in SW CO. No sluices to wash soil; pack mules for canvas bags of quartz ore.
