Desert Bird of Paradise
Lens: 50mm f/2.8 Camera: Kx Photo Location: Arizona
Posted By: Bob Harris, 03-25-2012, 09:12 PM

This plant blooms during the summer and is a very hardly summer and winter plant and is a common sight in Arizona where temps often reach 110 f and more. Photo taken in our campground. I'm not sure if this is the correct name for the plant, but it is what I have always called it, please advise if you know the official name. thanks

That is a really vibrant red. The colour is reminiscent of our Sturt Desert Pea which thrives in similar conditions.

Funny isn't it how we can be thousands of miles away and have such similiar plant life. Thanks for taking a look here. Bob

Dave, this may be one of just a few plants that I actually think I know the name, that is because my wife told me.
