Some pics with Schneider 50/0.95 mostly wide open
Lens: Schneider Kreuznach Xenon 0.95/50mm Camera: Sony NEX-5n

These have been taken in the last week, trying to see if this super-fast monster of a lens is a keeper.

All comments welcome!

Those look fantastic. The bokeh is much like that of the Helios 44M-4, which is phenomenal. This would make a killer portrait lens, especially with the versatile NEX.

this is a Cmount lens correct? I didn't know it would cover APS-C. these are stunning photos. id love to see some natural light portraits wide open. very well done.

Thanks, mr b!

Hi séamuis, yes it is C-mount and it sort of covers APS-C sensor on the NEX. Well wide open it covers it, though outside the intended image circle things sometimes get weird. Stopping down, vignetting increases but is never ridiculous. The shot of my daughter above was wide open in natural (indoor) light but I didn't quite nail the focus I think and the ISO was high. I will post some more from this week-end.

Interesting. Most lens vignette less when stopped down.

Yes, but with c-mount lenses and probably more generally lenses that are not intended to cover the sensor they are mounted to, it appears to be the opposite.

Here's a full image wide open:

Not much vignetting at all and with darker backgrounds it is practically invisible. I've cropped all the other ones out, so I will have to take some for comparison probably.

And a portrait wide-open this morning at the swimming pool:
