ok.. how did you get them to pose.. I had tried to photo some ducks once, but getting them to pose was impossible.. "bird brains!!!!!"

Den, these ringnecks make more of a squawk than a coo. Larger than a mourning dove and whitish in color when flying

Coo Cool shot Bob, we have similar birds hanging around at the moment, only spots instead of band (spotted dove).

I took this on the long end of the lens and the dove seem very calm, so nothing special on my end. If you say "mind if I take your picture", that always helps.

You're welcome Bob. I have used it for two years now and still some birds escape ID. But it is very useful more times than not.

thanks Tom, they are a bit noisy during mating season, they seem to have this screaming squawk when they fly.
