years back one of our friends did their den in all black/white. It would certainly work there.

Beautiful composition, but there's a huge black dot on the right side and you haven't finished masking off the background at the top, you can see where the black stopos and the background starts. And perhaps try using a more feathered brush when masking off the backgrounds, the edges look very harsh.

I've instantly fallen in love with these flowers though, adding it to magnolia in my list of awesome plants.

Very interesting pair. A predominantly white flower doesn't suffer in monochrome. By the way, I detect an circular artifact in the reversed version, along the right side just about halfway down. It appears as a blank white spot in the slightly textured background.
