the Bald Eagle

Photos taken at the Birds of Prey exhibition in Colorado. The white is blown out in the photos but I thought viewing this magnificent bird up close would be interesting to you.

You've done the right thing and got good focus on the eyes. Might need to drop your exposure back a fraction to stop the whites from blowing out but all in all, great detail great shots.

I love these!! Bob, thank you for sharing them. He is beautiful!

It is a dream of mine to see a bald eagle in the wild some day. I am losing hope as each year passes. I guess they just don't hang out around here much. Anyway, I adore seeing photos of them!!

Lori, I thought there were quite a few eagles near the waterways by Williamsburg/Jamestown areas. We were there a couple of times and saw them in flight, but never any photos of them. It also seems I saw a couple of threads on Virginia birds on the forum.

Yeah, I'm sure they are around in parts of VA. I live in central VA and not near any major waterways. I was told they frequent a river I recently went to on a day visit, but I guess they knew I was coming and bugged out! LOL! No luck so far.

Lori, you know what is going to happen. You will all of a sudden be traveling and see a large group of eagles and of course didn't bring a long lens with you and you are taking photos with a 21mm or something. That's my story anyway, take care. Bob
