First one is some kind of blue colored fly, second one is a thread waist wasp...........

Bright and sharp. I'm starting to think I really need to get a dedicated macro lens.

Boy, that is one blue-blue bug. The eyes are especially startling. Never seen one quite that color. The second looks like one of the smaller ichneumon flies. Two good captures.

The ichneumons are technically wasps. Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae.

I have had a glimpse of flies like that in the field in the past, have never been able to get snaps of them though - good shots....
