Hisses... and Pricks...
Posted By: Bud, 01-12-2008, 09:32 PM

The other day I spotted a bug on one of our house plants, a Milkweed
Bug, apparently a stowaway from our summer garden. It occured to me
that I haven't really used my trusty Vivitar Macro since the first
frost laid waste to all of my little macro buddies, so I set out to
see what else might have potential as a decent macro subject.

First... the Milkweed Bug... I'd seen a few this summer, but they somehow missed being part of my my macro obsession

Then a couple of my cold-blooded friends from around the house... I'm not sure why I haven't shot these guys before ( I expect you might see them again at some point... )

The Leopard Gecko

And the Bullsnake (The hissss... )

The my son and I made a trip to the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati
( It was rainy, cold and windy outside on Friday)

Here's some of what we saw through our Pentax and Vivitar 105's...
First... the pricks...

Hiss's and pricks aside I have to agree with the others - the last one with the Ladybird Beetle is the winner! Great shot!

agreed with the last shot ... that's a great image.

Although ... the entire series is great ... wish I could shoot as good as this.

Nice shots, love the Gecko, the third plant macro and the two lady bug shots, unlike others, especially the first ladybug shot.
