Glad you like the series here, those are the most sharp I think. An event that is fun to attend, but those drums are noisy. take care, Bob

Not only the 70 is sharp. Your eyes are sharp, too, Bob.

Great series!

I'm intrigued by how AmerIndians blend authentic with modern enhancements, such as a traditional headdress pattern with with dyed feathers and streamers, or a headband with machine-stitched embroidery, or a painted face with a cape that has Betsy-Ross stars-and stripes flags. It's simultaneously Native American and All American, which I think is good. A very engaging series.

Thank you for sharing these images. I too enjoy the mix of cultures and periods at pow wows. Eagle feathers and high tech runners. Face paint and expensive sunglasses. I've also seen dancers all kitted up and using a cell phone.

These are all great IMHO, Bob. Beautiful bright colours and that 70 is a cracker lens.

That's a good point, we have attended many of these throughout the US and sometimes it is hard to figure out what "traditional dress" is or means. Most of the children's dress-wear is handmade and it seems the older the person, the more authentic the wear is.

what is funny, sometimes they let the "whites" go out and dance with the tribal members, other times you can't use a camera anywhere during the celebrations, so you just have to check and find out what the rules are for the day.

thank you Ray, I don't know why I don't use the 70ltd more often, but I did remember to take it to Death Valley yesterday and got some good photos. At the end of the day, it seems like I end up with the 43ltd on the camera. Bob

I am with you Steve, I thought it was the best shot of the day for me. He was quite a nice man, I asked permission to take his photo and he told me he was the clan leader and grandfather of the little warrior that I posted a photo/thread of. We took 4 of our grandkids with us and they really enjoyed the day, had never seen a "real Indian up close" is what one of them said.
