Kookaburras in the backyard. Three of them came in this rainy afternoon...

K-7 at 600 mm with minimum PP using PDCU.
FA*300mm + Tamron TC 2x.
Comments always welcome...

Maybe a tad overexposed on both the shoot, I'm not sure or maybe over corrected. The bright white in both images have blown out to the point of losing all detail in those areas..
In you processing did you apply an auto correction or manual exposure correction?

Good effort, what do they look like without PP?

Thanks for the comments and feedback. Although the FA*300mm is a great lens, I fully appreciate that the TC 2x impacts adversely on the IQ

The shots were taken when the lighting was poor (it was raining). I use the Hyper-program (P) with manual ISO at 200. PP was reduced to basic NR and white balance = cloudy . The unprocessed pictures were quite dull IMO. I agree that the PP images are overexposed. Thanks again for the comments.

I agree about the over-exposure but the three birds in the first one are quite nice. Maybe some added contrast would help? I'm not very good at PP though.

I really like those and I'm glad you posted them. They may not be perfect, but they are still neat shots. I love those little birdies! I played with that last one, and if you have the Raw file, you could no doubt make it very nice.....I was able to really make it shine just from the small Jpeg, so I know it can be done. Give it a shot!
Best Regards!

nice looking kookas, I find my Tamron TC2x tends to suck the contrast right out of a shot (technically speaking) a bit of PP tweaking in could really lift these, they are nice shots and worth the effort.

cheers
