It's a sad day today
Posted By: daacon, 04-16-2012, 10:35 AM

April 16th , 2012 one of dearest family members was taken from us. He had been suffering for a while and it's the hardest decision I have ever had to make, but I know in my heart it was the right one. Jack has provided us with almost 17 years of memories and love. He is in a better place now and we will all miss him dearly.

Sorry for your loss... I know the feeling.. in just the past 2 years, we have lost 3 of our loved ones to diabetes and cancer.

Sorry to hear that Dave. I've gone through this more times than I care to (4 cats and 1 dog in the last 20 years). It never gets easy and I'm always gutted. The one thing I always find is when you finally do it it's because you just know it's time. My sympathies for you and your family

Beautiful dog, and he looks in the pics like he had a very happy life. That's the most important thing. Sorry for your loss.

I also am sorry for your loss.

Animals are family (regardless of what some unthinking people would have you believe) and it is one of the most courageous things a person can do is to make that decision to free them from pain and indignity.

One of our 2 cats had to leave us 4 years ago and the remaining one is about 16-17 and showing his age & I just know his time with us is coming to an end soon. I dread it but know what I'll have to have done. The only bright spot is that he doesn't know.

Thanks for sharing the photos of Jack with us.

As someone who lost a cherished canine companion last year, my heart goes out to you. You did make the right decision for Jack; he's no longer in pain and suffering right now. What a handsome dog! Such beautiful pictures of him. You will always have your memories and, of course, these wonderful pictures to admire and remember him by.

So sorry Dave......been there myself a few times, and it is a heart breaker. Still, all of those good times will never be forgotten, they become as much a part of us as our own flesh. My sincere condolences.

Ditto on all the condolences. Had to do the same thing last year and I cried like a baby. Didn't matter that it was the fourth dog I've had to part with. They are all so precious.
