30sec I found a fair bit of noise on the pic in PP, but it only showed up when i first open it. then magically goes away . Not sure what to make of it. not sure if its dust or.....?

Why did you think you needed 30 seconds? What ISO did you use? Interesting photo it obviously needs work in the area that is blown out but it could work.

Thanks Pat.
I used 30sec out of inexperience with this type of shot. The cloud cover at the time seemed interesting so i was hoping to grab something of that.
The overexposed bldg in the back is a grocery store that i should have cropped out.
The iso was 200.@ f13 with k100d 18-55 kit lens.

Well, it is digitial and you can practice all night long. Would try again but maybe less time and anytime you are shooting long exposures it is best to keep the ISO as low as you can go. I forget does the K100 have ISO100? Maybe try different time frames. I tinkered with some night shots during the holidays. usually between 6 and 12 seconds was enough. BUt again I played around until I got what I liked. Lots of good people here to help so keep trying and don't be afriad to ask questions. Good luck

Thanks again Pat,
Ya iso 200 is the lowest the k100d goes. and i guess 30sec is a little extreme.
I going to try again, this time play with the exposure time.
