Yellow Filter 056(02)
Lens: Pentax-M 17 mm Fisheye Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Opera house area ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F8

I've just recently acquired a pentax K-5. So for the 1st time today I headed into city to try and get a fix on my photo obsession.Having taken one of the members advice regarding my 17 mm Fisheye I applied the 056(02) filter and took most or nearly all my photos with this filter on.note there is no post processing , the images are straight out of the camera uploaded.

Enjoy ..

The fourth shot, a view of the opera house from under the bridge, is particularly satisfactory. Seen many views taken around Sidney Harbor, but not this perspective. A+ for getting a unique shot of two near cliche subjects.

Thanks for your comments WPresto. I have been around to this vantage point previously but never explored the shuts with my 17mm Fisheye until today.

We call the O2 filter an orange filter (I shoot BW film with these filters). Y2 is Pentax's yellow filter but of course a deep yellow borders on orange. One good use is silhouettes with a color picture.

Hi Tuco , thanks for clarrifying this ,so a more appropriate name is the "orange filter" , with regards to B&W is it better to take photos with the 02 filter and then convert the image to B&W ?

I shoot BW film with these filters. The yellow, orange, green and red are common filters in the toolbox of BW film shooters to either increase contrast or alter the gray tone rendering of colors in a scene.

But to answer to your question, I'm not sure. I've never tried that. But it sounds like you'd cut out a lot of gray scale. Give it a try and you tell me.

Hi Tuco , This is a sample shot taken yesterday with the O2 ( orange Filter ) of the sydney harbour bridge , I used the pentax K-5 Editing software to convert this image to Monochrome ( B&W) with neutral setting , IYO has there been too much grey scale lost in the image ?

image taken with Orange O2 filter convertd to B&W.

I pretty much looks like a regular color converted to gray scale.
