going wide open

Trying something new which is always fun. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I do like the softness of the images and bokeh....kind of painterly.

Beautiful images and great technique. I love the third one, the isolation from the sea of green is striking.

I concur with the above comments. All are good, 3 in particular demonstrates how to isolate a subject from the foreground as well as the background.

Very pleasing photos. The third one is my favorite, with the soft patterns and shifts in color, but all are very nice.

Reed thanks for your kind comments. The technique is something that I think I will practice with.

Bruce. Thanks. That is my favorite as well. though some of the bokeh is kind of squishy.

Thanks Rense. The poppies are popping everywhere in California. The recent rains have helped produce a nice wildflower year.
