I just turned as green as a cucumber. She is beautiful! There is just something about the sound of an LP, too. Sweet tones, great sustain.

Very nice - I love photos of musical instruments: the colors and shapes of guitars, the sensuous curves of a tenor sax, a big black grand piano . . . . My giggin' days on sax are long over and I play a stack of electronic keyboards now - I've thought of shooting them, but they pretty much just look like a pile of red (Nord Lead synth), brown (Korg CX-3 organ) and black (Yamaha S90) slabs connected with a bunch of wires to a mixer, a bunch of pedals, amp and studio speakers.

Maybe I can think of something and try it out on you guys.

In the mean time, the more pictures of beautiful axes like yours, the better.

I love the lines and looks of a great guitar. Of course the sound is even better.

Ever go to the Hard Rock Cafe vault in London (at original location). If you linger at the end of the tour they sometimes let you handle and play the great guitars they have there.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! This one is a Custom Shop 1957 reissue and sounds/plays fantastic! Here's a nice closeup for you all.

sweet axe. I've been meaning to take a couple of shot of my 70' custom, I took a shot of my beginner Ibanez that came out too good. Now I'm afraid I won't be able to do my Gibson the proper justice! Anyway, that's a very interesting string setup you've got going on there. Any particular reason?

I need to go and take some pics of my Brother-in-Law's guitars.

Damn ... I really need to get out with the camera again.

A trick I learned from watching Duane Allman (and others). It decreases the string break angle over the bridge resulting in reduced string tension. Also allows the tailpiece to be screwed all the way down onto the posts allowing for more transferrance of vibrations increasing resonance and sustain.

It happened when I took the guitar to Michigan during winter and didn't let the case warm up good before I opened it...
