I had some time on Saturday and my wife was out for the day. I wanted to try out an old 50 mm manual macro that I had picked up last month. I knew she had some nice colors in her sewing cabinet.

I know this is not an exciting topic or series of pictures but I would like comments on the overall composition and processing for this type of photography. I just started using lightroom and really only tweaked the images.

Weatherwise, please tell me that your wife is a quilter, or judging from the stock of fabric, you are going to get some funky looking shirts over the next few years.

I like the thread idea. (you could have a lot of fun with that, plus the colours offer a lot of possibilities).

I do not know what to say about the fabric, it still scars me a bit - just kidding!

Yes, she is a quilter. I just installed lightroom and was importing old pictures and can't believe how many old photos of the quilts she has made and I'm sure I don't have photographs of everyone. Usually working on 2-3 at once.
